WHY LINUX NOT COMMON TO PEOPLE
_______________________________________________________
1: I think it is due to the lack of awareness of linux
in common people
2: In developing countries like Pakistan India Srilanka
these unawareness is common
3: To solve that we should come forward to help them
4: People are losing their chance to know about kernel development.
5: Microsoft doesn’t even reveal which language is used to develop
windows kernel
6: So why should we hang on windows .
7: We are not fools to just handle the mouse.

good
you are right vivek
I think there really is good software out there in each category, spreadsheet, word processing, music players, etc. In some cases, GNU/Linux software has functionality that equivalent Windows software lacks. A good example is OpenOffice.org Impress, which is like PowerPoint, but lets you create Flash animations from slideshows.
On the other hand, the whole experience hasn't come together. There are lots of glitches. A good example, again, is Impress, which sometimes opens files from PowerPoint with small changes in appearance that are tedious to fix.
Of course, Microsoft Office applications have their problems, too... ;-)
I'm publishing a series of posts with a musician Brad Sucks (www.bradsucks.net) who uses open source software for distribution, but still cannot use it for producing his music for this reason: too many glitches...
